Freddie Freeman’s foul ball fouls up Citi Field camera behind home plate (video)
During the top of the 2nd inning of a game against the New York Mets at Citi Filed, Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, who later in the game was involved on a play where something else was broken — Tim Hudson’s ankle — fouled off a pitch during an at-bat that spun back and drilled a camera located behind home plate, shattering the presumably expensive piece of equipment.
Far out. The announcers wondered aloud whether Freeman would have to pay for it. Somehow I doubt it, although I do wonder if ESPN ever approached Thomas Bjorn about paying up on the reportedly $80,000 camera he busted up during play at the British Open last week.
