If you have never seen David Ortiz prancercise, well, here you go (video)
Thanks to the folks over at MLB’s Fan Cave, we now have video of Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz demonstrating the latest and lamest internet exercise craze: Prancercising.
Watch as Big Papi show off his prancercising skills on a New York street as he makes his way to Citi Field for the 2013 All-Star Game-related festivities.
For the uninitiated — a group that includes myself (a bit slow on the uptake on this one, I must admit), Prancercise is the brainchild (I use the term “brain” loosely in this instance) of Joanna Rohrback, B.H.S. Owner/MGR.M of Prancercise LLC. She describes Prancercise on her official website thusly:
Prancercise® is defined as: A springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse’s gait and ideally induced by elation. “This form of movement, along with dietary and spiritual principles can create the most satisfying, holistic and successful fitness program one could hope to experience. I encourage anyone who is ready for a huge change in their lives, from the way they see the world, to the way they see themselves to explore the principles inherent in this program, especially as outlined in my book : Prancercise®:The Art of Physical and Spiritual Excellence.”
Video of Rohrback demonstrating the proper Prancercise technique is a must-see for those who enjoy cringe-inducing, yet embarrassingly disturbing, awkwardness.
In any event, here’s David Ortiz doing a bit of Prancercising with a special cameo by Toronto Blue Jays All-Star David Bautista (via MLB.com):
Nicely done. At least we can all say that we have seen Big Papi Prancercising. Which is something to hang your hat on, I suppose.
