Nike reveals what Tiger Woods will be wearing at British Open (photos)
The 142nd British Open — the Open Championship for you Anglophiles out there — will be played at Muirfield, the legendary links course located in Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland. And while Tiger Woods has been sitting out the last few weeks to nurse a nagging elbow injury suffered during the U.S. Open, he has insisted he will be ready and raring to go when the British Open is played July 18-21.
With that in mind — and certainly not the first time this kind of thing has occurred — Nike has revealed before the onset of tournament play exactly what Mr. Woods will be wearing on all four days of the event. Assuming he makes the cut on Friday, of course.
Above is Tiger modeling his gear, below is a breakdown of the outfits, all the way down to the belt he will wear on each day:
Tiger is sure to look spiffy in those getups, although I’m sure Woods would prefer to win the major tournament no matter what he was wearing, even cargo shorts, if that were acceptable.
And while this announcement is more of a marketing coup by Nike and not Tiger putting it out there — although he has done something like that before — it does nevertheless evoke a minimal comparison to how Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade had each and every outfit and ensemble planned for his team’s run through the NBA playoffs. The only difference is Tiger’s outfits aren’t ridiculous. So there’s that.
