Blackhawks winger Patrick Sharp scores power play goal, fist pumps, falls (GIF)
The Chicago Blackhawks finally got off the team’s Stanley Cup final power play snide midway through the 3rd period of Game 4 as Patrick Sharp delivered a goal with the man advantage.
But Sharp’s exuberance after scoring the goal prompted a bit of on-ice comedy, as his celebratory fist pump caused him to take a bit of a tumble.
Good stuff. A bit of a derp — and it’s hard to do two things at once, try rubbing your head and patting your stomach at the same time. Wait, or is it the other way around?
No matter, one cannot blame Sharp for his excitement, as it gave the Blackhawks a 5-4 lead. Said one-goal advantage did not last long as the Boston Bruins tied it up later in the period, forcing yet another overtime. Sharp’s teammate Brent Seabrook scored 9:51 into overtime to give Chicago a 6-5 win and a 2-2 tie in the series.
I only wonder if Sharp coming through in the clutch on the power play had anything to do with that darn dog pooping on his lawn. It’s possible. Said canine defecation has proven to be a good luck charm in the past, why not in the Stanley Cup Finals?
