Mama Mia! San Antonio eatery makes ridiculously ginormous Spurs pizza (pics)
Everything is bigger in Texas, as the saying goes, and that apparently includes pizzas made in honor of the Western Conference Champion San Antonio Spurs.
Big Lou’s Pizza, located in San Antonio, recently whipped up an absurdly huge Spurs-themed pizza after ESPN apparently asked for a specialty Spurs pizza when the network was in town shooting footage for the Finals.
The gang at Big Lou’s Pizza were willing to accommodate the four-letter network’s request. And to say that Big Lou’s went over the top to comply with the order would be a drastic understatement.
The pizza, featuring the likeness of “The Coyote,” the Spurs mascot, done up in tasty pizza toppings, also includes Spurs #1″ and a Western Conference Champion’s trophy. Photos via Big Lou’s Pizza’s Facebook page:
Yowsers. Any chance the diaper-wearing crew of San Antonio Spurs fans from the other night have ever eaten there?
The pizza place made the following somewhat unnecessary disclaimer on its Facebook page: “We don’t offer this pizza for sale. It actually was given to all employees as well as people dining in to eat on site.” Makes sense, although a look at the restaurant’s menu does reveal that the pizza place does offer pie up to 42 inches, which is pretty darn huge.
I want to know why Adam Richman, the gluttonous star of Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food” show hasn’t hit up this place yet. Or maybe he has.
