Church sign attempts to talk Toronto Maple Leafs fans off the ledge (photo)
The Toronto Maple Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs on Monday night, losing its quarterfinals series to the Boston Bruins in Game 7. If that wasn’t bad enough on its own, the team inexplicably squandered a 4-1 third period lead, surrendering three goals to the Bruins in a span of just under 10 minutes to allow their opponents to tie the game before Patrice Bergeron scored the game-winning goal in overtime in an epic Game 7 5-4 loss. The mother of all choke jobs, indeed.
In light of the fact that this was Toronto’s first trip to the postseason since 2004 only exacerbates the degree of heartbreak felt by the dedicated but much maligned Maple Leafs fan base.
At least one Toronto church understands the pain Maple Leafs fans currently are suffering through, so it posted a message on its sign in an attempt to talk any exceedingly distraught fans from teetering off the figurative ledge.

Yes, get over it. Put it in perspective. Move on. Take it all in stride. Life goes on. Maple Leafs fans, you’re better than this. But for all that is holy, do not — I repeat, do not — dare shave. And yet, I wonder if this applies to women as well. Actually, I don’t want to know. Never mind.
