During last weekend’s series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants at AT&T Field, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp went above and beyond to make the day of one Dodgers fan seated alongside the field of play following one of the games.

After giving the young fan — who apparently is undergoing some challenges in his life — a signed baseball, Kemp went a step further, giving him a hat. Then his jersey. Then his shoes.

Awesome.

A description of the amazing moment that transpired between Kemp and the fan in the YouTube description of a video uploaded on Monday and discovered by Vin Scully is My Homeboy and published on Tuesday:

Matt Kemp is sucha great person. He came over after the game and made one of my best friends night :  ) he’s fighting a tough battle and this was sucha great gift by Matt Kemp ! I’ll never forget this.

And the video:

What a touching, inspiring and heartwarming scene. Kemp routinely demonstrates class, integrity and seems to display a genuine respect for his fans. If this kind of thoughtful act is typical of Kemp, he should be held up as a shining example of how all MLB players should conduct themselves. Kudos to Kemp.

A very gracious act on behalf of Matt Kemp. I teared up a bit watching this video. If only all Proffessional athletes would act the same . May god bless that young man and Mr. Kemp. Humanity still exists !!!

I am a life-long Giants fan, but what Kemp did was nothing short of pure class all the way. Kudos to Kemp both for what he did and as a shining example of what professional athletes should be all about!!!

I’m not really a baseball fan but I’m a fan of good deeds and this one was very very very nice of him. Yes, it would great if all of the athletes would show alot more class like this. He may have caused this young man or someone else watching him to be a better person. Sometimes it’s little things that can cause great ripples in life.
    God Bless
