Draft of Thrones: The NFL Draft in ‘Game of Thrones’ terms? Sure, why not? (video)

Not much setup required on this one. Unless you happen to be one of those lost, unfortunate souls too stubborn, too clueless or just flat-out too stupid not to be religiously watching arguably the best series currently on television: “Game of Thrones,” HBO’s brilliant retelling of the George R.R. Martin epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire.

In this video from NowThisNews, the upcoming NFL Draft — the 78th installment of which that begins Thursday night inside New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and will be aired on ESPN and NFL Network in a prime-time extravaganza that pales only in comparison to the hype, speculation and overkill which directly precedes it — is broken down for casual NFL fans by comparing some of the players expected to be drafted to their “Game of Thrones” counterparts.

While not the first time “Game of Thrones” and sports has intersected recently, this video does a fine job of tying the two disparate worlds splendidly.

Manti Te’o compared to Ned Stark? Sure. Tyrion Lannister as the diminutive yet dynamic Tavon Austin, the speedster out of West Virginia? Makes sense. And the comparisons don’t end there. Enjoy.

Forget the draft, I can’t wait until Sunday to watch the show.
