Eagles TE Brent Celek opening mustache-themed hot dog restaurant (pic)

That’s not a hot dog!

I don’t know about you, but whenever I think of hot dogs, mustaches are the first thing that comes to mind. Although that may have to more to do with a Gallagher performance I saw in the 1980s featuring frankfurters and the Sledge-o-Matic than anything else. Which is why when I learned that Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek is involved with the Prime Stache Hot Dogs and Sausages restaurant organization and will be opening an outpost of the eatery in Philly’s Old City, I said to myself, “Yeah, that makes sense.”

Celek’s new restaurant has been dubbed an “American Bistro” version of the original Prime Stache Hot Dogs and Sausages, located in North Wildwood, N.J., and will open on April 29. And as the name of the hot dog and sausage joint indicates, all the items on the menu have mustache-themed names. Sounds like a hairy situation, if you catch my mustachioed drift, whatever that means.

A look at the menu follows.

As you can see, the options include The Selleck (of course), Super Mario (Italian), Ditka (Chicago-style) and Castro (Pinko Commie Dog) but the name of the dog that sounds a bit unintentionally disturbing is the Clean-Shaven:

Sounds like a nifty idea, and a great investment for Celek. Because if there’s one thing that is a constant in this crazy world, restaurants are guaranteed money-makers. They never fail.

All sarcasm aside, given Celek’s esteemed stature in Philly and the presumably good taste and high quality of the outfit’s hot dogs and sausages, my guess this place will do quite well in Philadelphia.
