Jayson Werth’s epic beard nearly worthy of a ZZ Top tribute band (pics)
Long before Jayson Werth became an outfielder for the Washington Nationals organization, he became a legendary figure as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies, primarily due to the epic beard that adorned his face. the beard inspired hilarious photoshops and later, a Twitter account was spawned in honor of his phenomenal face-mane.
Well, it was the annual team photo day at Nationals spring training headquarters in Viera, Fla., and not only did Mr. Jayson Werth come rocking an already-rocking beard that we have grown to know, love and worship, he has taken his epic beard-ness another notch to truly outrageous proportions. Feast your eyes on additional photographic evidence of the magnificence, majesty and near-intimidating presence of Jayson Werth’s epic beard in additional pics below.
Amazing. For the second time in a little over a month, a pro athlete has dazzled us with their unkempt facial hair. In January it was San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns, who I argued looked like he lived under a bridge during the NHL lockout. Now we have Jayson Werth.
Most definitely worthy of a starring role as a stand-in for either Billy Gibbons or Dusty Hill in a ZZ Top tribute band. But not that Frank Beard guy. You know, the drummer for ZZ Top who has the last name of Beard yet is the only member of the group who doesn’t rock one? I’ll never figure that out, man.
Anyhoo, three cheers go out to Jayson Werth. May your beard serve you well in this upcoming season. If you like, please enjoy a Jayson Werth cupcake as a token of our appreciation.
