Tiger Woods reportedly sends private jet to pick up Lindsey Vonn in Austria

It looks like those rumors about Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn being an item might not have been as far-fetched as previously believed. Or Tiger Woods is just a really good friend.

TMZ has an exclusive photo of the private jet of Tiger Woods sitting on a runway in Salzburg, Austria on Friday morning reportedly to pick up an injured Lindsey Vonn, who tore two ligaments in her right knee and suffered a tibial fracture on Tuesday in a violent crash during the Super-G of the Alpine World Championships.

Rumors began swirling and speculation later ensued about a possible relationship between the two superstars of sport in late January, and whether or not this European pick-up is evidence that the two are romantically involved or if it is simply a noble gesture of one very rich friend who owns a private jet on the behalf of his pal who needed a flight back to the United States is really “up in the air” at the moment. Heh. Up in the air.

TMZ has an additional photo showing Tiger’s ex-wife, Elin Nordegren boarding the same airplane, perhaps to remove any doubt that the plane could be the very same aircraft that Tiger uses to jet-set around the globe.

Please understand that Tiger (and most other celebs) do not ‘own’ a specific aircraft. The jets are ‘owned’ by many at the same time in the form of shares. This basically provides the share owners the capability to have a plane ready to go on very short notice, regardless of time or place. How, you ask, do two different share owners get a plane in two different places at the same time?

Simple. The companies (most notably NetJets) that supply these services have fleets of identical aircraft. It doesn’t matter to the client that the airplane he was on yesterday is not the same one he is on today. It looks exactly the same inside and out, and thus, the client perception is that it is ‘their’ plane.

In this case, the fact that a photo exists of one person previously boarding the same plane as another person, and therefore conclude that the plane belongs to a specific person is irresponsible. Many, and I mean many, sports stars and celebrities use companies such as NetJets for transportation, and most of the planes sport the exact same livery.

Not saying Tiger isn’t looking out for the girl, but be aware that anyone could have sent that aircraft for her.

I am pretty sure Tiger Woods can afford his own personal jet. Heck his yacht is worth more then a fleet of jets. As much as Woods travels sharing a jet via Netjets or any other jet sharing ownership company doesn’t sound right to me. My guess is that it’s his personal jet.

You are telling me that a guy who owns a billion dollars does not own a jet ?.Come on man.I know some people just come online to disagree with every story they read but this is just ridiculous.

I’m sorry but you are very clueless. Tiger owns his own Jet and has for a long long time, yes many pga tour pros get flight cards from companies like Netjets (which give them hours on there fleet of jets) but the bigger names like mickelson, woods and a few other own there own planes. Private jets have tail numbers, Tigers has not changed for many years and you can access public records by tail number which indicates one of tigers LLCs owns that gulfstream g550. You and a lot of people really need to know the facts before you comment on things you know nothing about

I beg to differ. You are confusing Marquis Jet, a service offered by NetJets, which grants flight time only (usually purchased in pre-paid increments of 25 hours) and is for those who fly less than 50 hours per year. Tiger IS a NetJets client and fractionally OWNS a part of the NetJets fleet. Happen to know a NetJets pilot who has flown TW. I suppose it is entirely possible that Tiger, through his LLC, could have paid for one of the jets in the fleet and turned it over (leased it back?) to NetJets to operate and thus sell fractional shares thereof. It is also entirely possible that Tiger does exclusively use his own ride, being operated by NetJets, but it wouldn’t make economic sense. Again, not saying Tiger didn’t send the plane, but I’ll stand by my observation that it is a NetJet in the photo and any NetJet client could have sent the airplane to Lindsey. What’s more, the photo of Elin boarding a plane that TMZ is using to link the plane to Tiger that Lindsey is boarding are of two different aircraft type. Evidently Tiger owns at least two jets.

Yes I know the difference between Netjets and marquis you buy hours on marquis in 25 hour increments if you fly over 50 per year it’s cheaper to lease. Anyway I know for a fact that tiger owns his own plane that no one else uses now here is where Netjets comes into play with tiger, tiger uses Netjets to service his plane and uses Netjets pilots but it is his plane. This is the service they provide him and in turn Netjets is a sponsor of woods. He has a completely different relationship with Netjets compared to other professional golfers sponsored by Netjets

The more important question…the one everyone is asking…is: Where in the #@&% did Tiger get that shirt?!?

You forgot your daily meds. Tiger looks great in ANYTHING! Put that in your (NOT) peace pipe and smoke it! Envious people (mostly men) of anything Tiger, will never cease with the “put downs”. He looks great, and too bad for you he could wear a bedspread and still look great. Guess the power of hitting the “reply” button with the shield of a computer screen allows morons like you to be falsely bold. Dare you to meet Tiger in a lighted alley and have the caones to say face-to-face what you haters do. Please go back to the cellar where your porridge awaits you.

Anyone that would react to that comment the way you did, about someone you nor any other mere mortal will never get near…hmmmmm.

Happen to enjoy watching Tiger; the good, the bad, and the ugly. We’ll, maybe not enjoy the ugly, especially that shirt, but hey… not a hater and definitely not envious.

You there…. hiding behind your keyboard, judging people…

The shirt is extreme, but he wears it well and it was given to him for promotion from the Netjets company, so I’ve heard in marketing meetings!
