Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, currently not in the lineup as he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, ran afoul of the NBA’s apparently stringent dress code policies on Monday while seated on the bench during the team’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

Nattily attired — by most standards, as you can see above — in a nice grey sweater, a tasteful black blazer and stylish jeans, Noah was apparently informed by some NBA fashionisto that his duds were not up to snuff. Following the game, Noah had this to say, as reported by ESPN’s Nick Friedell: “I don’t even know really. They told me I wasn’t dressed appropriately so I changed.”

Noah returned to the bench at the beginning of the second half wearing the following, which evidently was more in line with the aforementioned NBA dress code:

The new ensemble featured a blue-striped shirt and a blue blazer he had to borrow from teammate Randy Brown.

The entire ordeal seems to be much ado about nothing, as Noah’s original outfit was tasteful, relatively conservative and not over the top. Heck, he could have been wearing this getup:

Yeesh. That wouldn’t have been good for anybody.
