Matador Fernando Cruz found himself on the wrong end of both of the bull’s horns he was “fighting” at Madrid’s La Ventas bull ring. Cruz suffered wounds to both his stomach and thigh and it has been reported that Cruz is sedated in the intensive care unit at Virgen del Mar Hospital and according to his attending physician, “”there are no deadlines for his recovery” and the wounds he suffered were “the worst we have had this year at the Madrid bull ring.”
Wait. Just this year? It’s a sad state of affairs for something erroneously referred to as a “sport” when something so horrible is only the worst thing this year. Sheesh.
Added Dr. Maximo Garcia Padros on Thursday:
“His condition is stable. He had a very troubled night despite the sedatives, all due to the magnitude of the mishap. And it’s still too soon to guess what’s going to happen in the coming hours.”

First, allow me to get this out of the way: as the old saying goes, you mess with the bull, you get the horns.

Yowsers. Can’t say he shouldn’t have seen it coming.
