With the ultimate outcome of the game — for all intents and purposes — official between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers late in the 4th quarter on Monday night, one of TNT’s cameras hilariously (at least for non-Lakers fans) sought out Lakers general manager in the crowd.
Starting with a wide view of the rapturous hometown Thunder crowd, the camera zoomed in on Kupchak, and zoomed in…and zoomed in some more, to the point where Kupchak’s face was the entire shot. And the dejected look on his face told the story quite clearly, as the Thunder more or less toyed with the Lakers as Oklahoma City eliminated Los Angeles from the 2012 postseason with a convincing four games to one series victory courtesy of Monday’s 106-90 win.
But the manner in which TNT framed the entire shot of a disappointed Kupchak, his profound malaise juxtaposed with the cheering Thunder fans that surrounded him was coldblooded, man. And great.
