Apparently, beneath the gruff, buttoned-down exterior, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell truly is a man of the people and is not afraid to demonstrate how he’s down with the get-down. Case in point: the above exchange with San Diego Chargers first-round draft pick Melvin Ingram.
After the former South Carolina defensive end was taken by the Chargers with the 18th overall pick in the draft, Ingram greeted Goodell with an intricately orchestrated handshake consisting of a front slap, back slap and three final slaps before the two shared a bear hug.
Nicely done, Mr. Goodell. Way to make a guy’s dream-come-true moment that much more of a richer experience.
