Stars player tosses Jets player’s glove into stands, chaos ensues (video)
Late in third period of the Dallas Stars-Winnipeg Jets tilt on Wednesday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, mayhem reigned after Stars pest Adam Burish tossed a Jets player’s glove (believed to be Winnipeg forward Tanner Glass) into the stands.
Things were getting a bit chippy late in the third, when, shortly after Dallas scored to eat into Winnipeg’s commanding lead to make the score 5-2, a little brouhaha developed as players began mixing it up after a hard hit and Burish started talking some smack to Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec.
As Burish was being delivered to the penalty box by a linesman, he noticed a stray Jets glove on the ice, which he promptly began scooting along the ice with his skate until he picked it up and heaved into the stands. That’s when the second round of the aforementioned brouhaha ensued as Tanner Glass bum-rushed Burish, shoving the linesman out of the way in the process (probably not the best decision) before an impromptu act of pugilism was set in motion.
Order was eventually restored, Glass was assessed a roughing penalty and a 10-minute misconduct and Burish was rewarded with a unsportsmanlike conduct and a game misconduct for his role in the fracas. Dallas held on to win 5-2 and one lucky fan presumably walked out of the arena with quite the nifty souvenir.
