Crazy idea, right? More like crazy enough to work! Plus, it was reported by InTouch magazine, so you know it’s true. There’s even photographic evidence that the two did in fact meet (above), a chance encounter that occurred during Chris Russo’s radio show during Super Bowl week on Radio Row. So there’s that.
So, how did this magical match-making effort by Rosie to pair up the 24-year-old Tim Tebow and 39-year-old Jenny McCarthy come about, you ask? I’ll allow InTouch to explain, because thinking about it is making my head hurt:
Rosie was in Indianapolis doing a special radio show for SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The Saturday before the game, Rosie was interviewing Jenny live on-air and the former Playboy Playmate revealed to Rosie that she was “newly single” and “had a crush on Tim Tebow.” At the conclusion of the interview, Rosie realized that Tim was nearby waiting to do an interview with another radio show and sprung into action.
“Rosie jumped up and took Jenny by the arm and walked her over to Tim. She said to him, ‘Hi, I’m Rosie O’Donnell and this is Jenny McCarthy and she’s single. I think you two would be perfect together. Now exchange telephone numbers.’ Rosie then walked away,” a source tells In Touch.
Jenny and Tim did exchange numbers and chatted a bit, before his handlers whisked him away to complete his scheduled radio tour. Jenny went back over to Rosie to thank her for setting her up and said: “We’ll see what happens now Ro!”
Ha. She called her “Ro.” That means their tight.
Guffaw if you must, but why wouldn’t this latest installment of “Which Attractive Celebrity is Going to be the Lucky Lady to Land Tim Tebow” storyline any less likely than the ones that have preceded it? Katy Perry’s name has already had a ride on this particular Matchmaking Merry-Go-Round, as has Kim Kardashian’s, so why not Jenny McCarthy? Sure, she’s a former Playboy playmate, but by all accounts she’s a great gal, is heavily involved in charity work and is obviously willing to stick it out with someone for the long haul, as evidenced by her long-term relationship with Jim Carey, which could not have been easy.
To be honest, I see something coming from this setup by Rosie O’Donnell. They’re both nice people, single and have good hearts. But if it were up to me and I was going to set up Tebow with a girl who made a name for herself on an MTV show (you might recall that McCarthy appeared on Singled Out), I’d pick Kari Wuhrer. I mean, that’s one girl who could really use the exposure.
