Tebow Responds To Plummer’s Jesus Criticism By Reiterating That He Loves Jesus
ByThe Denver Broncos QB made an appearance on ESPN’s First Take program on Tuesday morning and invariably, the topic of former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer’s critique regarding Tebow’s incessant praising of Jesus whenever he gets a chance came up as a topic of discussion. Of course, Tebow responded in typical Tebow-esque manner: self-assured and composed, all the while incorporating heavy doses of “I love Jesus” into his response. As transcribed by Pro Football Talk:
“If you’re married, and you have a wife, and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife, I love her, the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and have the opportunity? And that’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ,” Tebow said. “It is the most important thing in my life, so every opportunity I have to tell him I love him, or I’m given an opportunity to shout him out on national TV, I’m going to take that opportunity.”
The entire comparison between saying you love your wife every day and screaming it from the hilltops or whenever a microphone is shoved in your face is a bit forced, not to mention a stretch if you ask me, but it was said during a live television interview and perhaps his thoughts were not articulated exactly the way Tebow wished. He continued, explaining how the hierarchy of things he loves in his life breaks down:
“I look at it as a relationship I have with him, I want to give him the honor and glory every time I get the opportunity,” Tebow said. “And then after I give him the honor and glory I always try to give my teammates the honor and glory, and that’s how it works. Because Christ comes first in my life, and then my family, and then my teammates. I respect Jake’s opinion, and I really appreciate his compliment of calling me a winner, but I feel like every time I get the opportunity to give the Lord some praise he is due for it because what he did for me, and what he did on the cross for all of us. I really appreciate his opinion and I respect him, but I still will give all the honor and glory to the Lord because he deserves it.”
Whether or not Tebow feels the Lord deserves constant praise is immaterial to the conversation. Plummer’s criticism was that Tebow shouldn’t feel the need to say it at every opportunity. We all get it by now: Tim Tebow loves Jesus and his relationship with his Lord and Savior has been so overly covered by the Broncos QB it has practically reached to the point that whatever message Tebow is trying to convey gets lost in white noise of constant repetition.
Tebow should give it a rest. Everybody knows it. Cats and dogs probably are aware of it at this point. And by the simple act of refraining from speaking about it from time to time, perhaps it will cease to be a topic of discussion. Lord knows I could use a break from it.

This all comes down to the, “holier than thou” principle. The motivation is the only thing that could annoy me. Is he posing and trying to create a false persona? Or is he simply living the way he feels is best based on his faith? I got no issues with one of those and have not gotten the impression that he’s posing.
Why is it that if a person truly believes in something, people have to call it “holier than thou” thats not what he is doing. He believes that he NEEDS to give thanks and praise to God in all things.”holier than thou” refers to being a hypocrite. Tebow doesn’t say look at me and i am better than you. He simply states that he is thankful.
RIGHT ON. you’re absolutely correct about Tebow.
I agree with Mr. Moore 110%. It’s refreshing to see someone giving thanks to the Lord for his accomplishments. I wish more athletes would do the same as Mr. Tebow.
I think that the most ignorant part of this is that we even care about his faith. Why does it matter? I watch football because I like football. If I wanted to have a discussion on faith, I would go someplace else. I take nothing away from those that choose to believe that Jesus is their savior, and nothing away from those that choose to follow a Mormon, Jewish, etc. way of life.
It’s THEIR choice. It should be a private choice. The advertising of religion that goes on is conducted for much the same reason that brands are advertised nowadays, and it makes me sick. You believe in Jesus? Great, I will defend your right to believe as you wish until my last breath, because everyone should be free to choose to believe in what they feel is right for them.
But even though I don’t believe that Tebow tries to shove his religion down the throats of others, newscasters are.
There is alot of frustration around some people that treat other people like second class citizens if they do not believe as they do, and that is where the “holier-than-thou” phrase comes from. I don’t believe that Tebow is like that, but in my understanding he’s not going to (and shouldn’t have to) deny his faith to comfort everyone that might be made uncomfortable by it.
My take? Who cares what he believes. He needs to start throwing the ball better to keep his success going, before teams figure out how to stop his rushing.
THATS what everyone needs to be concerned about when it comes to Tim Tebow.
I really feel that if a man/women wants to show how much he/she love something or someone, then he nor anyone else should be critised for doing so. I really hate or rather say i dislike somone for not giving others right to express what they like. The gay, bi’s, crooks, rappers and sports fans express what they like and who they like so its not a problem Tebow keep doing what you want, you love the Lord and there is nothing wrong with saying it when you get a chance. Like the words of the late James Brown saying that he’s black and he’s proud. So Tebow can say he is a Jesus lover and be proud. Plummer need a reality check with his life and who he love……,
This is a positive young man that is a breath of fresh air in sports,I hope a lot of kids see him as a good role model.
Right on Brother!!!!!!!!!
I believe his faith in The Lord is so very refreshing!! So much better to see a man bow on one knee to The Lord then to shoot himself in that same leg with a gun at a club or beat some stripper down. Finally, a non criminal and non-thug comes along and he gets chastized for loving God!? Since when did loving God become so un-cool? No God on money, no Pledge of Allegiance because God is in the verbage and so on….. Other countries praise God loud and proud and we should too!! And if you don’t wish to be loud and proud about it, don’t bring those who do down with you for it!!
I believe that Tebow has the right to say what he wants, if the sports writers, interviewers, etc dont like it why let him talk at all. Theres nothing wrong with having a relationship with Jesus or GOD.
You should always give praise when you’re up and when your down.
Let the KID be himself thats why we all like him
So agree. His book made me a fan. I was down on him a bit after Florida beat OU. But now follow he and Sam Braford equally
Amen!
Agreed…problem is the media doesn’t find it NEWS WORTHY to be a humble and descent person. They create “Sensationalism” in there journalism. Media loves the selfish & self serving athlete that promotes “I”. I love the fact that Tebow isn’t apologizing, because frankly there is absolutley nothing to apologize for.
bin Laden similarly and repeatedly announced his love for Allah and Mohammed, along with his contempt for unbelievers.
Dr Love, do you similarly applaud bin Laden for constantly pushing those views in the public forum?
If he was a muslim, would anyone care? They’d probably be to scared to say anything for fear of retribution. Leave him alone, what’s the big deal? He’s not hurting anyone, maybe just annoying them, but if annoying people was a crime, most of us would’ve been locked up a loooong time ago. And yes, I am a Christian.
For those of you who prefer not to hear Tebow’s message, I am sure there is a MUTE button on your remote. USE IT. This young man is such a fine example of how people should handle themselves. Through all of the negative comments, he still finds good in people and gives the glory to the Lord.
Just maybe Jake and others who seem uncomfortable with Tim’s proclomation’s, are feeling a bit convicted ?
Keep on keepin on Mr Tebow……
This reminds me my child hood when the Jehovah witness knocked on doors, everyone in the neighborhood would notify one another hiding the Jehovah witness. Not because of religous indifference’s but because they at this time were relentless in selling and preaching documents.
There is a time and place for all and all a time and place.
If the media wants to talk to him and thats what he wants to say. Thats his right, just like its your right to run from the jehovahs witness. Your time and place “argument” has no place in this conversation. Its Tebow’s time and place and he can do & say what he wants.
You know, this constant ridicule or dissension that this Tim receives, is not altogether different than what the Pharisees displayed on another man a long time ago. (“Tebow should give it a rest”) —– Tim, thank you for you passion. They can kill you but they can’t eat you. Stay the course.
Reggie White God rest his soul, Darrell Green, and many others had strong believes in God they did not behave as Tebow.
I think he has a motive behind his process, in time we shall see.
His football skills are below average based on the skill set in the NFL players at his position. Denver will not renew his contract once expired. Everyone will then say Tim who?
If his contract does not get renewed, and people say Tim who? I don’t think it will matter to him. He will continue to live out his Christian faith whereever he goes. He just has a tv camera on him for this part of his life. Whether he stays in football or not, is really irrelevant to who Tim Tebow is. Just my 2 cents.
Jerrome,
The big difference with Tim Tebow is that he is professing his faith in Jesus Christ. This is the powerful and correct way to claim you are a true christian. Many people in sports have given glory to GOD but not claimed the name of Jesus Christ.
I do not know what your beliefs are Jerrome, but many faiths in the world clam to believe in God or god. But only tru christians clam the name of Jesus Christ as there personal savior and have and want to have a personal relationship with him as Tim Tebow professes.
Tim Tebow keep claming the name of our savior Jesus Christ as often as you feel led to. Because as you and I know there is power in the name
I respect Tebow. Let’s think about this, if he was supporting pro-choice, pro-life, alternate lifestyles etc we would not have a problem. We would say everyone has their rights and whatever “stage” you’re given, use it to broadcast. We should stand up for what we believe in and that’s what he is doing. He’s not holier than thou, but he’s one of the few who are living their beliefs out on a daily basis. Do you live your beliefs out everyday? I know I don’t but I try my best and I get grief for it. That’s ok.
Yet because Tebow believes he should give God the Glory for everything, now he’s holier than thou?? Come on, we’re so hypocritical of the things we don’t agree with unless it deals with us specifically. Truth be known if more Christ followers would do the same, the impact would be greater than all expectations.
First of all I would like to say that I too am a Christian, and like Tebow have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The criticism that is given to Tebow is from those who do not stand firm in their beliefs and obviously feel jealous of Tim for his. Now, I have to admit that sometimes he seems to sound a bit redundant in his interviews. Even I would like to hear a bit more football talk and less preaching. I know that as a Christian we are expected to spread the Word Of God and it is a good thing to do. But sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.
You should have kept your mouth shut and cover “your” brother as the Bible says, though Tebow is not at fault! How dare you double talk .. you want to hear more football talk – change channels or talkl to your football!
Amen Jewel
It is black and white not gray.
If you would rather hear “a bit more about football” than observe a brother in Christ witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the whole world, I seriously doubt where your heart is with the Lord.
The Word being held out to a dying world takes precedence over ALL things, even my desires to be entertained.
It’s obvious the writers and critics just don’t get it.
Tim Tebow is living his life unashamedly for the Lord.
This is obviously out of respect for Christ’s death on the cross for all of us. He also lives his llife for Christ openly because he believes the bible and adheres to what it calls us to do.
The bible says in Deuteronomy 6:5-9. You are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, your are to keep His words in your heart, your are to teach them diligently to your children, you are to discuss them openly when you walk, when you sit down, when you lie down and when your rise up, you are to write them on your door posts.
The bible also says the Cross is confusion to the world that doesn’t know Christ.
If some don’t like Tim’s open expression of his faith then ignore him. He’s not trying to force anyone to believe what he believes. He is just living his life with respect to his Saviour and Most High God.
As I said the “Wise writers and critics” just don’t get it.
Well said!
Dan,
As we know in the last days which we are in, there will be huge spreads of the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Tim is one of those lights on a hill who can and influence many to seek the lord and come to know him.
We are blessed to be witnesses to this mighty movement of the lord and continue to bless and pray for Tim Tebow to be salt & light with the platform our lord has blessed him with.
All of you pro Tebow fans are missing the point, This the NFL, once teams adjust to this Tebow offense, and force him to pass you then will see failure, since this is business failure is not an option, not in the NFL. Cheer Tebow now, you wont cheer Tebow later.
jerrome wakeupken
Maybe true only time will tell. But didnt he break all kinds of college passing records? Yup he did…he can pass to Jerome. He is a “rookie” and doing what he can do right now. He will get a good enough feel for the defenses in the NFL and pass better. When he does, watch out!
I am not a fan of Tebow’s as far as football wise but as a human being I find his beliefs inspiring and wish him success in all he does!
I respect the fact that Tebow serves his God and praises Him whenever he can. That is who he is. It has become a point of focus that shouldn’t be. The focus should be on his game, not the fact that he has more faith than most and is not afraid to let the world know that. Play on!
For those of you preaching the word Tebow perhaps you need to reread your Bibles, Tebow is just another human being.
Agreed another human being but called and living a life way more important that football.
I believe we will all see if he fails at football as you say the bigger more important part of his life will remain alive and well.
Not really sure why this is even an issue. I actually admire Tebow for showing his passion in life. It`s not hurting anyone. It`s too bad that society has to pick people apart every chance we get. Take a look at the Penn State thing, now that`s a real problem !!
I know it could be annoying to Jake and others to see Tebow expresses how much he loves his Lord and savior Jesus Christ who died on the cross for sins, Jakes sins, my sins and the sins of the world..Jake ask Jesus Christ to eogive you of you sins and to come into your life and save you. YOU will expreince the same love that Tebow and so many others have. I WISH I HAD EXPRESSED MY LOVE FOR JESUS THE WAY TEBOW DID WHILE I WAS IN COLLEGE AND IN MY WORK PLACE. I WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OF SPIRITUALLY. KEEP PRAISING TEBOW BE A WITNESS EVERY OPPORTUNITY YOU HAVE. JAKE TRY JESUS. LOVE
My son really looks up to Tebow and just bought his book. He is the reason my son loves and plays football… He is 11 and has such a passion for football… He plans to play for the University of Florida and then go to the pros.. Tebow is a great role model and if he wants to pray and praise the Lord we should let him do what he feels he wants to do and leave him alone..
There is nothing wrong with Tim Tebow praising God at every opportunity, after all the Bible tells us that we should do just that. Jake was a Raider so what can you expect from him. The majority of the media are a bunch of liberals so what can you expect from them. With regards to Tebow’s NFL QB abilities he better learn to become a better pocket passer quickly because he has been lucky to get by with college style football to this point. Yes, I am a Bronco fan and a Christian so what can I say except Go Broncos and thank you Jesus!
It is amazing how so much political, social, commercial, racial and civil rights garbage is easily accepted as the norm in our society. We are ashamed to be ourselves and express ourselves. We’re worried that people will think this topic isn’t cool, how will it affect my ratings or will I offend someone because what I say will annoy them. Tim Tebow is by all indications, a real person who has strong convictons about his faith and expresses himself by both his words and actions. Leave him alone! He is a much better role model than our political figures, entertainers and most religious figures.
Supposedly everyone gets his fifteen minutes of fame (I think that’s dubious), but the more the negatives squawk about Tebow’s clearly-spoken passion for Christ, the more they extend his time in the spotlight. Because he is not a hypocrite and he lives what he says, the criticism backfires on the whiners. Tim, you keep on being the man of God you are, and your life will be vindicated, not by men, but by the One you serve. Go Tim!
Loved your comment…awesome…well said!
This writer still doesn’t understand. Tim’s relationship with the Lord is not subserviant to any other position, including to remaining quiet; and yet, as a sinner he remains humbled with the recognition that the Lord can also take him in a different direction and use him for another purpose at anytime. Relax and understand, the Lord is more important than anything else is Tim’s llife and it’s why he’s the best person to land in the NFL in a very long time. Thanks Lord, for Tim. Grant him Your strength to overcome the doubters.
Tim says what he feels in his heart, I love JESUS and I think everyone should love him. There will be a coming out party where everyone will wish they loved JESUS, Tebow gets dumped on by stupid people if he was a movie star sleeping around like some slut he would reap all kinds of praise, this is a sick world we live in.
If you are ashamed of the Lord so will he be ashamed of you. Tim has the order of things exactly correct…GOD, family, and whatever else comes next. In the overall scheme of things football is pretty low on the totem pole. The time will come when we all will stand before our maker and I pray that you will not be one of those that GOD says to go away, I do not know you.
The media has created much of this by controversy by continually shoving a camera in Tim’s face at every opportunity. Let Tim alone, he’s not seeking your attention, you’re (media) are seeking his.
Tim, whatever you do, don’t stop praising God!! By faith you see what natural eyes do not see. Until a person has a personal relationship with Jesus, he or she will never understand what all the praise for Jesus is all about. The world has never understood it, nor will the world ever understand it naturally. The fact is, Tim is where the experts say he shouldn’t be, doing what they say he shouldn’t be able to do. All God’s children should know that we are winners. Carry on Tim!!!!
as soon as i heard tim tebow’s comments, i knew and i think he knew he would be in for some criticism. he may have overstated his passion a bit, but so what. it is so refreshing to hear that kind of speaking instead of trash talk and overstating your own abilities. i certainly got the impression tim tebow is at peace with himself and God. that is a wonderful place to be in life and if his relationship with Jesus is a great part of that, then why shouldn’t he say so. i’m sure if tim does not become a great nfl qb, his faith will always empower him to be a great person.
JEBOW SUCKS!!!! Separation of Sports and State! Call your local Congressman and demand this be stopped! Keep that nonsense on the religious channels.
Preacher Boy…change your channel if you dont want to listen..here i solved your problem..well one of them
Have you ever thought that maybe Tim isn’t praising JESUS too much, but that you are not praising him enough,
While Tim proclaims his love for his Lord, the writer cannot even offer up his name. I admire a young man that can publicly proclaim that which I as an athlete never had the guys to do. And I have disdain for those who cannot hold their tongues critisising those who really stand for something good.
people are usually scared of things or people they do not know. football will not last forever no matter how many contracts get renewed or cancelled. keep up the faith tebow, christ will be with you forever.please! more americans be strong enough to speak up for what you believe rather than what others tell you to say or do.
The REAL issue is not Tebow at all–it’s JESUS! Most folks just don’t want to hear about Him! But all who come to Him receive eternal life, peace, joy, and hope–That’s what drives Tebow–and he makes everyone around him better because of it!
To address religion: I hope that all of you, Christian or not, are taking some time to give thanks for all of the blessings in your lives. That this young man, who because of his talent and position, has the opportunity to spread his message is fantastic. I agree with many of you, since when did religion become taboo? I would rather hear it from Tebow, than some punk thug who thanks the Lord and then goes and gets into a fight in a strip club.
As to being an NFL qb? Strange, last year there wasn’t alot of criticism of his passing. Check out a comparison of his numbers in his first 8 starts with those of the great John Elway. Tebow destroys in every category. Give the guy a break, time will tell.
He is a class act. He could be (I would) complaining about the play calling (run up the middle twice, try a long pass, punt) or his lack of support from coaches and GM; but instead he says something nice about God. GO BRONCOS! GO TEBOW!
Tim Tebow is not only an authentic follower of Messiah, he is a tremendous example of what it looks like when one of God’s children is in a vibrant relationship with their Father. The media thrives on controversy, and there is nothing more controversial than everone’s choice to follow the god of this world, or put their trust in the true God’s Savior, and let every aspect of their earthly life be an echo of thanksgiving for the most valuable posession anyone can attain, a restored relationship with their Creator. While not elevating Tim Tebow to be on a pedestal, I am glad the media is thriving on his unashamed show of love for his Lord and Savior. Thanksgiving is intended to be directed toward God, Tim just does it 24/7, not once a year, in November.
writers seem to have no trouble or criticism of the to’s or ochocinco’s (sp) of the world…we need to stop reading the columns written by those who enjoy creating drama from real life. Let them go broke.
Kurt Warner did the same thing when he was playing, and winning, and nobody said a thing. The difference, I think, is that Warner was phenomenally playing during his team’s success. Tebow is barely getting the job done, but somehow comes away with the victory. I think that is what is pissing people off more than anything. Bottom line, leave the kid alone. Let him do what he does. Who is he hurting anyway?
Tebow has already won and has begun to win over others, he accepts what has been given to him and makes it better, and in the end he does not need to prove anything to anyone except Jesus Christ, GO TEBOW YOU ARE A WINNER
I agree that you should tell your wife “I love you” as often as you can. That is “Tell YOUR Wife” not everybody else. So Mr Tebow : please, tell it to Jesus not to me, thank you.
The one point that many of you Tebow critics are fargetting is that this is his first real opportunity in the NFL. So, as far as his “below average” performances go, give him time, he will be a winner! Then you will have to listen to him EVERY Sunday when he is interviewed as the “winning” QB!
SHOUT IT LOUD TEEBOW! AMEN!
Way to go Tebow. I have, many times, not been strong enough to forgive my enemy, to pray for my accusers, to love the least among us. I have failed at this and am still loved by God. Amazing. I am proud of you and I have begun to express my beliefs and feelings more when people around me are less than sensitive or are just plain mean. Our society wants us to be open and honest but a few comments lead me to believe that they really want us to be mute, oppressed and a follower of the world. Right on Tim, you go man, we got your back. I love Jesus too!!
Honestly, it’s just old. And it’s crazy. If Aaron Rodgers knelt and prayed to the Almighty Wedge after every good play and praised Cheese every time he got on television people would say he was crazy. Tebow is crazy. Still, as long as he keeps his fantasy points around 20 I’m okay. Btw, I praise Artemis for giving me the wisdom to select Tebow in my FF league. To her the glory. Amen.
Good for him! Thats all I have to say. Praise, glory and honor to our Lord and Savior!
Good For Tebow. YOu have to be a man of strong integrity and courage to withstand this crap.
However, on the other hand he has talent, but he is a terrible QB. Therefore I’m convinced God blesses his butt everyday day because he just keeps winning, no matter how terribile those Billy Kilmer passes he floats up there look.
Praise the Lord Tebow, because he is watching over you.
If you look at sports teams as a whole you will find ex-criminals, players that should be in jail, drug addicts, sex offenders, rapists, etc and we praise them for their talents. However you have a young football player who for all accounts is a great guy. Not only does he play football for the right reasons, not just for fame or glory but for the love of the game, now he comes under fire for loving our Lord!!! What in the world is wrong with our society today? We glorify men who rape women, beat their wives, commit adultery, take drugs and kill dogs and we never give them a ounce of care. Mr. Tebow I applaud you and the people who don’t think you should praise the Lord will regret that when they die. Remember to live life believing that there is a God and to die to find out there isn’t than live you life believing there is not and to die and find out THERE IS!!!!!!
When someone says “God bless.” reply with “Which God?”
Christian Religion, there is only One God, who is a trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
In the Jewish Religion, there is only one God, Jehovah. In deference to Judaism, G_d is the correct spelling.
In the Islamic Religion, there is only one God, Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet. Allah has no intermediaries, no spouse, no children, and thus, Allah is One.
In the Sikh Religion, there is only One, Hari; who has many names and many forms.
In the Buddhist Religion, there are many Buddha’s, but not all Buddhists are deists or worshippers of Idols of Buddha. The first Buddha to attain enlightenment is Gautama Buddha, who is worshipped as a God in some strands of Buddhism.
In the Hindu Religion, there is one Formless God and a trinity of Creator, Preserver and Destroyer Gods.
There are many other gods and consorts.
In the Parsee Religion, Zoroastrianism, there is Ormazd, sometimes called “Ahura Mazda” or simply “Mazda”, the most well known of their Gods.
There were other deities.
African religion has many deities
Mayan religion has many deities
Ancient Greek and Roman religions all had deities also.
The American Indians had their deities
Australian Aboriginals had their Gods and the Dreamtime.
There were Norse Gods, Scandinavian Gods, Celtic Gods, Druidic Gods, along with nature religions also.
Where ever there is mankind, there you will find worshipers of the Divine.
The one common thread is that they’re all one hundred percent pure nonsense.
Act 17:21 Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.
Act 17:22 So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.
Act 17:23 For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
Act 17:24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,
Act 17:25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
Act 17:26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,
Act 17:27 that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
Act 17:28 for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
Act 17:29 Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.
Act 17:30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
Act 17:31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
There is the difference my friend. God has put His seal of approval on Jesus Christ. Even history itself marked by His life and death with the year 2011 testifies Jesus is the Christ!!!!
We are without excuse. Cover our eyes, stop up our ears all we want, the world has seen the Truth, that great Light of the world! Jesus Christ!!!
“This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom
or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
Tebow knows and understands.
Isn’t Tebow the guy that is boasting about his “wisdom.” He merely shouts out how much he loves Jesus; he is not teaching anyone anything ABOUT Him.
How do you know what he’s teaching
I prefer the quiet, contemplative, introverted Christian. Tebow’s circus-like exhibitionism, shallow actions/words are a turn-off to a great number of would-be-but-rather-not-church-goers.
It’s everyone’s right to sit at a table and thump their fingers over and over and over and over again. But, when they start screaming – to continue is just plain rude.
Hmm . . . I guess you would have not liked the disciples and Paul? Or most of the great men and women of faith.
I think Tebow acts this way now, because it’s like a rabbit foot for him. It might have been real in the beginning, but he has reached the apex of obsessive complusive. I think he believes if he doesn’t do it, God will make him drop the ball. He has become magic for him and it has nothing to do with his love for Jesus.
Keep up! the good work Tebow you have a right to express your faith we live in a free country, so all those who are offended open your eyes , their are more problems with player in the NFL that need attention than this young christian loving God,
Praise , GOD give him glory always
Tim should consider that the broadcast audience includes atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and most other widely followed religions.
How would he feel if one of his team mates would repeatedly state on the air that “Allah is the one true god and Mohammad is his messenger. Unbelievers are not my friends.” That’s the message preached over and over and over again in the Quran.
His religious views are best expressed in church or in private. No one is going to be buying into Jesus and Christianity because Tim pushes it all the time. They are simply going to think he’s either dumb or gullible or a bit of both. That’s not what he wants but that’s what he’ll get if he keeps on with it.
Really? Christ did most of preaching outside of ‘Churches’. He did not confine his message to private times or church services. Frankly the people in the churches already know. He makes a simple statement of praise and moves on unless the questions call for more. So you think Christians are dumb or gullible or both? Sorry to say you very misinformed.
Tim isn’t doing this because of cameras. Football does not make this kid. Thus Glory is given where it is due. And he’ll continue to do it if he doesn’t play ball. Jesus is his Lord and Savior. Comes before family as he stated. If you put God first good things will follow. Doesn’t mean life will be perfect or we won’t have falls. The Bible tells us to give glory to God in all things. Not only good things. All things. It also states to rejoice when they hate/persecute you because of Me. For they hated Me first. It’s not Tim Tebow the people hate. It’s Jesus and Tim knows this. The Bible tells us not to fear those that can take our life and not judge it. But to fear the one that holds life and eternity in his hand.
I pray that Tim takes the time to read all the comments of support he has and rejoices in the fact he has brothers and sisters in the Lord that are supporting and praying for him to stay strong in the Lord and to stay on the straight and narrow. God bless America.
Mathew 6:6 New International Version (©1984) – But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Athletes who point to the sky, cross themselves in the batters box, etc. make me wonder. God doesn’t really care who wins the NFC East or the World Series. What happenes if both teams are praying for victory? Then who does God chose?
