Matey. Batten down the hatches, because if the sight of that old seadog, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, isn’t the most delightful thing you see all day, well, I’ll have to call a spade a spade and accuse you of being a landlubbing scallywag.
The amazing video follows:
To be honest as we move away from the pirate talk, I haven’t given watching NFL Network’s Bill Belichick documentary, A Football Life, much thought. But after watching this portion of the finale, I just might have to reconsider. In it, Randy Moss convinces Captain Scowlbeard to attend a team Halloween party at a roller rink and thankfully for us, ol’ Bill obliges, taking along his gal pal — or, in this case, sea wench – Linda Holliday. It is certifiable gold. Who knew Belichick had this side to him? And more importantly, does that make him a) more likeable; b) less likeable; or c) as likeable? I suppose for Patriots haters, you could switch “likeable” for “unlikeable.” Either way, it is a difficult question to answer, but no matter which way you look at it, seeing Bill Belichick dressed as a pirate while roller skating certainly makes a documentary about him a whole lot more amusing to watch. Well done, NFL Network, you have landed yourself another viewer.
One final multiple choice question. Which pirate pickup line do you think Belichick used to land Linda? Was it:
a) I’d love to drop anchor in your lagoon.
b) Pardon me, but would ya mind if I fired me cannon through your porthole?
c) How’d you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder?
I’m going with “c”, although I cannot say why.
