With kickoff of the 2011 NFL season a mere few days away, The Dallas Morning News conducted a poll to determine the fans’ choice for the Top 10 Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Apparently, there are 34 lovely ladies that comprise this season’s compliment of America’s Sweethearts, so I’m sure there won’t be any hard feelings or anything between the gals regarding who were considered the crème de la crème and those who were left out. Nope. No hurt feelings at all. Knockdown, drag-out cat fights, to be sure, but I’m confident they will all be able to move on from this without any long-running grudges (or long locks of overly-styled hair) held.
So read (or ogle) on, dear readers. Photos follow. What’s that? Pandering? I think not. I just wanted to highlight one example how highly-reliable polling and sports can intersect. With cheerleaders.

Newsflash: look at their eyes; most of the blonds here have BROWN eyes which is a lovely contrast. I can’t tell if they dye their hair, but the blond color is very appealing to the eye. Not bleached looking at all. Natural blond color is a true minority. So basically these woman are just brunettes anyway. Can you picture how bland they would be if they were just brunettes? Not so eye-catching. Brown/black hair color is more appropriate on men. I think people just like the femininity of the fair blond color. The brunettes with strong facial features look like transvestites to me. Beauty is somewhat subjective, but some things are just appealing, and some are not.

Looks like their having a great time. I personally chose the flag twirling, I didn’t have the balls to wear those tiny out fits or to try for what others said I would be good at. I enjoy the whole deal, the game, the friends, the hard bodies come on people get real, put a smile on and lighten up. No one is perfect, I may not be perfect but parts of me are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really. I’m a white girl and the lack of diversity is blaring. And all those blondies do look like freakin’ clones. Yes, they are beautiful, and I have daughters their ages, so if that was my child I would be very proud, but still…seems like some serious exploitation going on.
I have 3 daughters, all natural blondes and gorgeous, with 2 and more advanced degrees. I would not want to see my daughter half naked on a football field to please men.
More than half naked- in most of the pictures, I wondered what was keeping their breasts inside their tops.
I wonder about people sometimes… they shudder at the thought of their teenager dressing as a ‘sexy nurse’ for Halloween, but are perfectly fine with their daughters wearing clothing like this because their cheerleaders for some famous sport team.
These women are all very beautiful. Best of luck to them now in thier current carreers and in their future careers.
The cheerleaders are not doing this for men, they go into cheerleading to help thier chances for a Modeling jobs or Movie careers. Like Terri Hatcher she was cheerleader for the 49ers.

I have six children of all different races. While yes if people wanted a black or hispanic person in they should of voted but it is very typical of the US to worship the blond hair blue eyed Barbie. So while they may not be as pretty Im pretty sure there looks are natural and not bleached out:)

I’m multiracial so I don’t really care either way but it’s always interesting to me that someone picks a channel devoted to a minority group that doesn’t receive much programming focused on them otherwise as some sort of indication of racial inequity while the vast majority of programming is focused on the majority by default.

Packer fans have no Cheerleaders. So we’re stuck with watching the players. For the most part, that pretty much sucks! Cuz most of the players are down right ugly.

I see all of the arguements but people seem to forget the lines of the article, it was the people who got this Dallas newspaper or heard from someone else and voted. If you would like to change, so others get that title next, subscribe to that paper so you can voted next year. If you are wondering where are the other minority cheerleaders, why not check all the other teams and their cheerleaders. As popular as the “reality” shows for cheerleaders and swimsuit shots, since the Cowboys and Dolphins cheerleaders had their own shows for women who wanted to tryout to be a member of either team, each team is developing sites just for their cheerleaders, so you could check on the cheerleaders from most of the other teams in the NFL. I know in Atlanta, there are many more minority cheerleaders, you just haver to look at the other teams in the league. Remember, these were vted on by people who subscribe to this newspaper and who heard all of the ads on the local radio stations. Anyways the big deal about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was brought about by NFL Films in the early 70s the Cowboys as “America’s Team” in their films and then of course they had to have the most glamourest cheerleaders in the league.
