Why Not Unleaded? Softball Superstar Jennie Finch Names Newborn Son ‘Diesel’

Famous athletes and celebrities: they’re just like us! Except for one thing (and tons of others): they all seem to have a predilection to naming their offspring bizarro names. Take Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch, who along with her husband, Casey Daigle, went ahead and named their new baby boy, Diesel Dean. That’s right: Diesel Dean Daigle. Talk about a Triple-D baby. That’s alliteration kookiness!

From the People EXCLUSIVE!!1!1! (via Off the Bench):

“We are so completely grateful and beyond blessed,” the Olympic softball star, 30, tells PEOPLE.

“Casey and I are excited for our sweet precious Baby D! Ace couldn’t be any more pumped to be a big brother to Diesel.”

Baby D, eh? Instead of Diesle, the “D” could just as well stand for “DERP!” if you ask me.

I’m sure when he grows up none of his classmates will make fun of him for being named Diesel.

Amazing the amount of ignorance that floats around narrow-minded, opinionated individuals! Jennie and her husband picked out their son’s name and now everyone wants to bash it?! Really?! First of all, my 7 year old son’s name is Diezil James…it is a very unique name that we picked out. He has never one day in his 7 years of life been made fun of for his name…if anything, we always get a response of “that’s really cool!” Maybe these negatively opinionated individuals should be happy that Jennie and her husband were blessed with a healthy baby boy and not be so concerned about their choice of names…that is their business, not yours!
