Start ‘Em Young: Pittsburgh Hospital Wrapping Newborns In Terrible Towels

Hey Pittsburgh Steelers fans who are proud new parents: gotta support the team. Since Yinzer babies are “born Steelers fans” in Pittsburgh, according to Sharon Johnson, clinical supervisor of St. Clair Hospital’s Family Birth Center, it makes perfect sense that newborns are being swathed in their very own Terrible Towel and are also fitted with a Steelers knit hat, which in a way, is effectively a symbolic baptism, if you will, into the Cult of Steelers Nation. That’s awesome.

I have been a Steeler fan since I was 8 years old! I had the privilege and honor of meeting Dan Rooney when he came to our St Patricks Day parade last year. I had my Terrible Towel with me and my picture made the local newspapers. LOVE THE STEELERS!!!
GO BLACK AND GOLD! What this hospital did was so unique! I live in MA which is huge Patriots territory and can only live the pre SuperBowl experience via the internet! Wish I were in Pittsburgh right now!!! Love you guys!!! Jeanie Fitzgerald

This is sooooooooooooo sad to see. Spreading the ignorance at such a young age. Does this fall under child abuse laws? lol

just goes to show you how strong the loyalty is in the Steeler nation. i live in Arlington,Tx close to the stadium and the Steeler nation is big and strong here. I can’t wait to see the game. Can’t afford a ticket but my family and friends watch all the games every week 50-100 strong at a pub in North Dallas. Haven’t seen that from any other team. GO STEELERS
