9th Grade Girls Basketball Coach Charged With Criminal Sexual Conduct

I guess thanks to the Deadspin comments section for making me aware of this story, although I wish I didn’t have to hear about this sort of shit:
Todd Gau, 38, from Monticello, Minnesota, was charged on May 5th with Fourth-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct – Position of Authority, stemming from “innapropriate sexual contact” with a player. He is an assistant coach with the Monticello High School 9th grade basketball team.
The complaint states the relationship was reported by a player to a member of the Wright County Police Department in late February. The player told the officer “basketball had become weird” because of the relationship with the coach.
The report states the two frequently exchanged text messages, kissed and had other contact away from the basketball court.
Although Gau does not teach at the school, he is employed by the Monticello School District.
The complaint further alleges that “when they were in a parking lot of an elementary school, he put his hand under the girl’s sports bra. He then sent her another text message saying, ‘want more than my hands on your chest. LOL.’”
What a fucking scumbag. Castration is too good for sick fucks like this.

This whole thing is bullshit, I know the girl personally and went to school with her, shes 17. She knew exactly what she was doing and is the kind of girl who is so self centered and desperate for attention she would do exactly this sort of thing. I have personally heard her tell people that Todd Gau was, “cute” (Wtf, hes ugly as hell.)The whole system is screwed, if a 17 year old boy fooled around with a female adult there would be probation at the most. The story says she was with him on multiple occasions, I don’t know about anyone else but if I was “molested” by somebody I sure wouldn’t get in a car with them at a later date. I feel bad for the guy and his family. The story failed to mention the molested girl is friends with Todd Gau’s daughters, now thats messed up..

@rodger, It’s people like you who make it difficult for these young ladies to come forward. You should get your brains out of your ass and be supportive. You sound young enough to not have children or grand children. Hopefully you will gain some knowledge on this subject before you have kids someday. The last time I looked it was illegal for 40 y.o. men to prey on juveniles. These “role models” sweet talk and gain the trust of these young ladies and then when they have them where they want them, these young ladies dont know what to do. Now we have two people “messed up”, you, and Todd!
